The tension is getting higher as the historical bout of Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and Ricky “Hitman” Hatton is fast approaching (May 2, 2009 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas).

The side of the British Lightweight champion appears to be saying much about the fight. First Hatton said that he is confident in knocking out Pacquiao inside of three rounds and giving negative criticisms to the victories scored by Pacquiao over David Diaz and Lately, to Oscar dela Hoya. Following that, Hatton’s trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. said that Hatton will surely win the fight but not by knock out or a decision, but by stop down of Pacquiao’s corner as his boxer will surely beat and pound Manny. The latest is the statement of Ricky himself that Pacquiao is a one-dimensional fighter which means he is very predictable. Surely, Hatton said aggravating words that might make Pacquiao to unleash his “bombs” in the fight night.

In contrast, the side of the reigning pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao is staying quiet and seems to show that the statements of the Hatton side is not affecting them. This scenario is the same with his fight against dele Hoya where he was the acclaimed underdog but all of a sudden, he turned the whole table around.

Much has been said by the Hatton side, but if I were them, I will quit saying these things before Manny Pacquiao make them swallow all their “words of wisdom” for Pacquiao.
