The Filipinos went wild again, just as the audience in Puerto Rico screamed for the victory of Nonito Donaire.It was a great fight. That was last Saturday, July 10, 2010 when Donaire stand out again after winning the game over his opponent Hernan Marquez. At the eight round, Marquez received an attack from Donaire that made him lose his balance and stumble on the ring. The referee then proclaimed it as knock out and made Donaire won by knock out.Donaire at the age of 27, has won his two titles in two different weight classes, the flyweight division and the super flyweight division. However, though he won the game, there had been negative speculations about him. Because in his game with Marquez, it is conspicuous that for four rounds he used southpaw fighting, which is known to be Manny Pacuiao’s style.Some audience were disgusted to Donaire and his way of imitating Pacquiao’s moves.

There were also times when the audience shouted “Boo” to Donaire. But either any means, no comparison shall be done because Manny Pacquiao and Nonito Donaire are both great boxer and a pride of the Philippines. Whether Donaire really tried to imitate Pacquiao that doesn’t made him less of a proud boxer. Because imitating is a part of learning, and in order for a person to improve he must have a role model to follow. A model that will serve as an inspiration. As for Donaire, I believe that he treats Pacquiao as his role model. We can say that Donaire is the younger version of Pacquiao. We Filipinos are one lucky race to have a great person among us–Donaire, a humble and a true boxer with dignity.

MANILA, Philippines – Hopes of salvaging the megafight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are slim after American promoter Bob Arum’s”final counter offer” was quickly turned down by Mayweather’s chief adviser, Leonard Ellerbe, and negotiator, Richard Schaefer.

Arum, main man of Top Rank, had given the Mayweather camp until Monday (today in Manila) to decide on his final proposal that both parties let the Nevada State Athletic Commission to make the final decision on the blood tests issue.

According to Yahoo! Sports, Arum suggested that both sides explain to the NSAC why their “preferred (blood) testing system” should be used or followed, and let theNevada body make the final decision.

Mayweather wanted an Olympic-style blood testing to be supervised by the United States Anti-Doping Agency. Under the set-up, both fighters should agree to as many as five blood and 12 urine tests – randomly.

Freddie Roach said it’s so random that that USADA can knock on your doors in the middle of the night to get blood or urine samples, in the weeks, days or just hours before the fight, and shortly afterwards.

Pacquiao’s camp said there’s no need for such, and has agreed to three blood tests (one on the first week of January, then 30 days before the match and another after the match, but was again unacceptable to Mayweather.

Arum made the offer of letting the NSAC to decide. And if the Mayweathers disagree, the Top Rank president said he could seal a Pacquiao fight with Paulie Malignaggi on March 13 “within an hour.”

Arum may find himself making the phone call when he wakes up Monday morning while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico after Ellerbe and Schaefer literally thumbed down the final counter offer from Top Rank.

“Random is random. We are all intelligent people and we know what random testing is. That is what we want and it has not changed,” said Ellerbe.

“It does not make sense for this to become a commission matter. This is a contractual matter. The commission did not decide the weights or the purse split or how the foreign television rights would be sold.

“If this is Bob’s final ultimatum, then that’s what it is. That is his decision if he wants to take that position. I very much hope this fight can be made, but the reason it is at a standstill is because of the way they have handled things,” Schaefer said.

Pacquiao is vacationing with his family in Gen. Santos City and his adviser, Mike Koncz, said the 31-year-old superstar doesn’t want to make any further comment on the matter.

The other day, Schaefer said Mayweather can do away with the USADA, and it’s just a matter of both camps agreeing on the dates of the blood tests just to make sure that they’re still effective.

But that was the other day.

“We are prepared to have this handled in a way that is not us deciding or them deciding,” said Arum. “The commission meets on Jan. 19. Mayweather’s people can say why they believe additional testing above what we agreed to as necessary and we can give our viewpoint.

“Let the commission decide. If they come away and decide Manny needs to be blood tested every single [expletive] day, then we will go with that. This is the way to go to give this thing legitimacy. Katrina Lozano, a celebrity make-up artist by profession began riding big bikes two years ago. After joining several biking expedition as a back rider, she decided to give it a try and enrolled herself in a riding school.

To further harness her skills, she allotted at least two hours everyday to practice for four months. “It’s a high-risk sport so you really need proper training and a lot of practice,” said Lozano, who started with an underbone before moving to Honda Super4 and a Ducati Monster.

On the other hand, a bicycle accident when she was just eight years old pushed Love-Love Tioseco to shift to a motorized bike. “Riding big bikes gives a different adrenalin rush, plus it’s also faster and requires less manpower effort.”

She started with a scooter, and then after she got her student’s permit, she moved on to big bikes. Tioseco had a total of seven bikes (Honda VFR400R, Honda CVR900RR, Suzuki Hayabusa, GSX1300R, Suzuki TL1000R, Suzuki GSXR600, and Ducati 916 Sienna) before settling with Suzuki GSXR1000.

Tioseco, who works as a freelance TV host,  writes for a magazine about motorcycles, and is a road safety instructor for law enforcers, tries to instill riding discipline both in theory and practice. “I make it a point that they (the law enforcers) set a good example in observing road safety practices.”

She also emphasize on investing on safety gears and a bike that is compatible with the rider’s built and skills. “Some people would spend twice or even thrice the price of their bike on accessories that is not even road worthy. So if you value your life invest on safety gears. It doesn’t have to be signature, remember spare parts are replaceable, body parts are not,” shared Tioseco.

Being the sole female in their respective group, Lozano and Tioseco related that although they often get teased, they do get to enjoy some special treatment like having their own room during road trips or whenever they would dine out, members would often treat them.

Both are current officers in their respective group, Lozano is the secretary for Bagwis Makati, while Tioseco serves as the PRO of Lawin Motorcyclist Club and the vice president of Roadrunners Pampanga.

Lozano and Tioseco agreed, it takes a certain kind of character to be a biker but despite the challenges and risks that come in riding big bikes, nothing beats the happiness, freedom and satisfaction they gain, especially when they need to de-stress.

Lozano noted, “Riding is very liberating, so if it’s really your passion, you can always find a way to pursue it.” Tioseco added, “And if you are willing to learn, then go for it.”

It only took 5 minutes and 53 seconds (almost 2 rounds) for Manny Pacquiao to knock the now former IBO and Ring Magazine’s Junior Welterweight Champion Ricky Hatton in their showdown last May 2, 2009 at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The victory was a real surprise to everybody even for Manny’s fans.

Even before the match begins, the tension was already at its peak. The entrance of the warriors was already an attraction. At first, it will appear that Manny Pacquiao will be the first to enter the ring since he is the challenger and Ricky Hatton is the champion. But since Manny Pacquiao is the defending pound-for-pound king, it ended up that Ricky Hatton entered the ring first. Without much further adieu, the match momentarily commenced.

At the beginning of the first round, both fighters were eager to start a brawl and at the sound of the bell, both fighters exchanged blows immediately. The style being shown by the Junior Welterweight champion was monotonous. He was just charging forward without weighing his chances of getting hit. This was indeed in favor for Manny Pacquiao. Manny was the one who made the first hit. It was a right lopper punch that caught the attention of the British champion. In the following sequences, Pacquiao was able to hit the unguarded Hatton with his right hook punch and made the defending champion kiss the floor. However, Hatton was able to get up and still continued to be aggressive. Just near the end of the opening round, Manny’s left straight sent Hatton down again. In the succeeding round, “The Hitman” seems to have recovered from the damage and was still aggressive and fighting “Pacman” head on. Hatton connected some good punches but were returned immediately by Pacquiao and inside the last 10 seconds of the 2^nd round, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao’s left hook knocked Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton out cold literally. The count was no longer needed and referee Bayless crossed his arms to signal the early end of the match dubbed as the Battle of the East and West.

Earlier news that stated that Hatton said Pacquiao has many flaws was an ironic one. For me, Ricky Hatton was not weak not all. He has just taken Pacquiao lightly that he just charged recklessly without any defense to the dynamite punches of the defending pound-for-pound king and the new IBO and Ring Magazine’s Junior Welterweight champion, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao who has claimed his fifth world title. Since Hatton was too confident in defeating Pacquiao, this lost will be big to him as it will hurt his pride as well as his manhood.
