MANILA (October 2011) – With the numerous fun runs and marathons happening in the metro, there are a few organized for a cause. Rarer still are those organized for a cause as serious as helping our brothers with disabilities in dire need of our aid.

With this, UP Manila’s College of Allied Medical Professions Student Council (CAMP-SC) and the College of Public Health Student Council (CPH-SC) brings you EmpoweRUN: The Power is in YOUR run – a benefit run organized to promote the importance of wellness for all persons, especially for those with disabilities. This run aims to raise funds for the UP-PGH Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and Tahanang Walang Hagdan, Inc.

As members of the health sciences community, the CAMP and CPH student councils paired up in an effort to organize this event as a form of service that goes beyond what is required; their way of giving back to the country in fulfillment of their duty as future health professionals and leaders in their fields.

EmpoweRUN will take place on Nov. 12, 2011 at the CCP Complex, Manila. The first gun start will be by 6AM. Registration Fees are PhP 500 for the 3k and 5k leg and PhP 600 for the 10k leg, with UP ID Holders enjoying PhP 150 discount from their fees. First 1,000 registrants will get a specially-designed EmpoweRUN singlet courtesy of Converse.
