The win of the Denver Nuggets against the New Orleans Hornets was a big one…real big for it led to the first ever play offs victory of Nuggets since 1994.
Carmelo Anthony’s 34 points, Chauncey Billups’ 13 points and 11 assists, and J. R. Smith’s 20 points (15 of which he scored in the second half) fueled the Denver Nuggets to have a 21 point advantage in there win against the Hornets (107-86) and made the Nuggets to taste their first play off win ever since 1994 after suffering 5 straight first round flame-outs. Advancing to the second round of the series, the Denver Nuggets will face Dallas Mavericks who also made it to the second round by defeating the San Antonio Spurs in five games.
Although the Hornets lost, and even they played without Tyson Chandler, they have given the Nuggets a very nice match. The match was tied at 62 at the midway of the third period before Denver Nuggets made a sensational 24-4 run and to take the lead. David West alone got 24 points and Chris Paul was able to make 12 points and 10 assists, an evidence of a great basketball showdown against the two competing teams.

The proud father, Michael Jordan didn’t join the celebration enjoyed by the triumphant victorious team. Instead, Michael Jordan stood quietly, clapping his hands with tears in his eyes. “Crying?” the NBA great said in response to a reporter’s question. “I’m not crying, not for me, anyway.” “Awesome,” Marcus Jordan said. “Just awesome.”
